New Utility Box Mural Unveiled

Our neighbourhood just got a little brighter!

We’re excited to share the completion of a new utility box mural, beautifully painted by local artist Deidre Lorraine. Located at the corner of Elbow Drive and 75 Avenue SW (in front of Shoppers Drug Mart), this once plain piece of infrastructure has been transformed into a vibrant work of art that reflects the creativity and spirit of our community.

Utility boxes are a common sight throughout our streets—but thanks to initiatives like this, they can become something more. With imagination, skill, and a brush, Deidre has turned this everyday feature into a colourful landmark that invites residents to pause, smile, and connect with the space around them.

This project was made possible through the support of the City of Calgary Utility Box Public Art Program. Public art plays an important role in fostering pride, identity, and vibrancy in our neighbourhood - and we’re grateful to everyone who helped bring this vision to life.
