Current Opportunities
Secretary
The Secretary plays an important role in supporting the work of the Board by recording meeting minutes, tracking decisions and follow-up actions, and helping ensure important Board discussions and decisions are properly documented. Minutes are taken at monthly Board meetings and should be finalized within two weeks following each meeting.
As minutes are prepared and stored electronically, this role requires basic computer skills and the ability to work with digital documents. This position is well suited to someone who is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and interested in contributing to the success of the Kingsland Community Association.
Crime Prevention & Safety Director
The Crime Prevention & Safety Director supports a safe and connected community by serving as a liaison between residents, the Community Association, and our Calgary Police Service Liaison. This role involves monitoring community safety concerns, sharing crime prevention and safety information with residents, and helping coordinate neighbourhood initiatives that promote awareness and engagement.
This position is well suited to someone who is community-minded, proactive, and interested in helping make Kingsland a safer place to live, work, and play.
Planning & Development Director
The Planning & Development Director helps represent community interests on planning and development matters in Kingsland. This role involves reviewing development proposals together with an ad hoc planning committee of interested residents, staying informed about planning initiatives, and sharing information with the Board and residents. The Director acts as a liaison between the community, the City, and developers to help ensure community perspectives are heard.
This position is well suited to someone who is interested in community planning, development, and the future growth and character of Kingsland.
Open Director
The Open Director position supports the work of the Board by participating in discussions, contributing ideas, assisting with projects and events, and helping advance the goals of the Association. This flexible role provides an opportunity to become involved in community leadership without responsibility for a specific portfolio.
This position is well suited to someone who is community-minded, collaborative, and interested in making a positive impact in Kingsland while gaining experience in board governance and community engagement.
